ANTHEM: In the Name of the Lord  arr. Mary McDonald

Crowds have lined the narrow street to see this man from Galilee; just a carpenter some say, leading fools astray, yet many kneel to give him praise.  And in his eyes they glimpse the power that sees the heart of all men, and he knows the Father’s mind, he speaks the Father’s words, for he comes in the Name of the Lord.  There is strength in the Name of the Lord, there is power in the Name of the Lord, there is hope in the Name of the Lord.  Blessed is he who comes in the Name of the Lord!  When my plans have fallen through and when my strength is nearly gone; when there’s nothing left to do but just depend on you, and the power of your Name.  And when we call upon your Name, your strength through weakness to show, we can know the Master’s plan, extend the Master’s Hand when we come in the Name of the Lord.  His Name will be worshipped forever: Creator, Redeemer, and King!  There is strength in the Name of the Lord, there is power in the Name of the Lord, there is hope in the Name of the Lord.  Blessed is he who comes in the Name of the Lord!  [Sandi Patti]

ANTHEM: And Can It Be?  by Dan Forrest

And can it be?  Amazing love, how can it be?  And can it be that I should gain an interest in the Savior’s blood?  Died He for me who caused His pain?  For me who Him to death pursued?  Amazing love!  How can it be that Thou my God, shouldst die for me?  He left His Father’s throne above, so free, so infinite His grace; Emptied Himself on all but love, and bled for Adam’s helpless race; ‘Tis mercy all, immense and free; for, O my God, it found out me.  And can it be?  Amazing love, how can it be?  No condemnation now I dread, Jesus and all in Him is mine!  Alive in Him, my living Head, and clothed in righteousness divine, bold I approach the eternal throne, and claim the crown through Christ my own.  Amazing love, how can it be that Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?  Amazing love!  [Charles Wesley]

BENEDICTION

BENEDICTION RESPONSE: And I Did Nothing, a Lenten Thought by David Lantz III

I did nothing, yet God gives me grace.  I did nothing, yet God gives me love. His grace, his love, his mercy from above he gives to me, and I did nothing. I did nothing, yet God gives me hope.  I did nothing, yet God gives me peace.  His hope, his peace, his comfort and release he gives to me, and I did nothing.  He died for me, now let me live for him.  He set me free and took away my sin. He died for me and I did nothing.  I did nothing, yet God gives me breath.  I did nothing, yet God gives me life.  His life, his breath, his victory over death he gives to me, and I did nothing.  God gives me love, God gives me hope, God gives me life and I did nothing.  [Herb Frombach]
