PRAYER OF PRAISE

INTROIT:  Witness Traditional Spiritual/arr. By Greg Gilpin

Who’ll be a witness for my Lord?  Who will be a witness for my Lord?  Oh, I’ll be a witness for my Lord.  I will be a witness for my Lord.  There was a man of the Pharisees, his name was Nicodemus, and he didn’t believe.  The same came to Christ by night, wanted to be taught out of human sight.  Nicodemus was a man who desired to know how a man can be born when he is old.  Christ told Nicodemus as a friend, “Man, you must be born again,” he said.  “Marvel not, if you want to be wise; repent, believe and be baptized.”  Then you’ll be a witness for my Lord.  You will be a witness for my Lord.

ANTHEM:  Let the Church Reach Out by William J. Reyonolds

Look all around in the place you live, look far away around the world, how many hopeless people can you see who live without the Lord?  They do not know Him as their Savior; they do not know Him as their Lord; they do not know the sweetest joy of walking with the Lord day by day.  Let the church reach out to tell the old, old story of God’s great love revealed in Jesus Christ.  Let the church reach out with comfort and compassion, and let the church show forth the love of God.  The radiant joy of know Jesus Christ shines forth in witness to our faith; this is revealed in the all the words we say and all the deeds we do.  To all who need our understanding, we would reach out to help and heal; for we remember Scripture tells us Jesus went about doing good.  Let the church reach out.  Tell everybody that Jesus brings abundant life.  Bold mission!  Go tell everybody that Jesus brings abundant life.  Oh, Jesus brings abundant life.  Bold mission, oh bold mission!
