PRELUDE:  Ornament of Grace by Bernard Wayne Sanders; Julie Metz, violin

HYMN:  Men of Faith, Rise Up and Sing [Smith]

INTROIT:  We Are One by Joel Raney

We all are one in mission, we all are one in call, our varied gifts united by Christ, the Lord of all.  A single, great commission compels us from above to plan and work together that all may know Christ’s love.  We are called for service to witness in God’s name.  Our ministries are different, our purpose is the same:  to touch the lives of others with God’s amazing grace, so every person, every nation may feel God’s warm embrace.  We all are one!  We all are one in Spirit, we are one in the Son.  Now let us be united, let our song be heard.  We are one.  We all behold one vision, a stark reality: the author of salvation was nailed upon a tree.  Yet resurrected Justice gives rise that we may share free grace and reconciliation and hope amid despair.  We all are one! [Rusty Edwards]

SCRIPTURE LESSON:  Isaiah 49:1-6

ANTHEM:  We Are Called by David Haas/arr. Mark Hayes; Julie Metz, violin

Come!  Live in the light!  Shine with the joy and the love of the Lord!  We are called to be light for the kingdom, to live in the freedom of the city of God.  We are called to act with justice; we are called to love tenderly.  We are called to serve one another, to walk humbly with God.  Come!  Open your heart!  Show your mercy to all those in fear!  We are called to be hope for the hopeless, so hatred and violence will be no more.  Sing!  Sing a new song!  Sing of that great day when all will be one!  God will reign, and we’ll walk with each other as sisters and brothers united in love.  We’ll walk humbly with God.

Peace, shalom.  Peace I leave with you, peace I give to you: peace.  Peace.  Shalom.  Not as this world gives, I give to you, do not be afraid.  Shalom, shalom, my peace I give to you, shalom.  Peace. [Based on John 14:27]
