HYMN:  Alleluia!  Sing to Jesus  [Hyfrydol]

INTROIT:  Praise the Lord (from “Judas Maccabeus”) by G. F. Handel/arr. by Hal H. Hopson

Praise the Lord.  Let songs of joy break forth.  Sing alleluia, praise His name forevermore.  Shout, sing and dance, and celebrate.  Come dance and celebrate.  Rejoice; let all within us praise His name.  Shout, sing, let songs of joy break forth.  Sing alleluia, sing for joy.  Rejoice, or praise His holy name forevermore.

SCRIPTURE LESSON:  Psalm 149:1-5

ANTHEM:  And the Father will Dance by Mark Hayes

And the Father will dance over you in joy!  He will take delight in whom he loves.  Is that a choir I hear singing the praises of God?  No, the Lord God Himself is exulting over you in song!  And He will joy over you in song.  My soul will make its boast in God, for He has answered all my cries. His faithfulness to me is as sure as the dawn of a new day.  Awake my soul!  Awake, my soul, and sing!  Let my spirit rejoice in God!  Sing, O daughter of Zion, with all of your heart!  Cast away fear for you have been restored!  Put on the garment of praise as on a festival day.  Join with the Father in glorious, jubilant song.  And He will joy over you in song!  God rejoices over you in song!  [Adapted from Zephaniah 3:14,17, and Psalm 34:2, 4]

SERMON:  “Take Pleasure In God as God Takes Pleasure in You”

HYMN:  O Sing to the Lord  [Cantai Oa Senhor]

RESPONSE:  Go Forth to Serve, Go Forth in Joy by Hal H. Hopson

Go forth to serve the Lord of Life.  Go forth to do His holy will.  His name sing out along your way, who was, and is forevermore. Go forth in joy.  Sing and dance and serve Him, go in joy.  Sing and dance and serve Him.

The flowers in worship today were gifts of love to Pastor Adele in celebration of her 61st birthday on Friday, August 28th.
