INTROIT:  Jesus, Priceless Treasure (From BWV 227) by J. S. Bach

Jesus, priceless treasure, source of purest pleasure, friend most sure and true:  long my heart was burning, fainting much and yearning, thirsting, Lord, for you.  Yours I am, O spotless Lamb, so will I let nothing hide you, seek no joy beside you!  Hence, all worldly treasure!  Jesus is my pleasure, Jesus is my choice.  Hence, all empty glory!  What to me your story told with tempting voice?  Pain or loss or shame or cross shall not from my Savior move me.  Since he chose to love me. [Johann Franck]

ANTHEM:  Content in Him by Joshua Hummel; Julie Metz, violin

There is nothing we enjoy that God did not provide.  He knows our frame; He knows our needs, no gift will be denied.  The power of the Spirit, the aroma of His fruit, the result of walking in His strength is sweet contentment.  Content to be my Father’s, content to be His own, content to set the world aside and kneel before His throne.  Content to follow Jesus, content to walk by faith, content to wield the Spirit’s grace, content in Him.  God will give us every need through Jesus Christ His Son.  The riches of His glory will enhance the work begun.  Trust in God, delight in Him and He will give to you the treasures of His righteousness and fellowship anew.
