PRAYER OF PRAISE

INTROIT:  Come, Let Us Anew by Mack Wilber

Come, let us anew our journey pursue, roll ‘round with the year and never stand still till the Master appear.  His adorable will let us gladly fulfill, and our talents improve by the patience of hope and the labor of love.  Our life is a dream; our time, as a stream, glides swiftly away, and the fugitive moment refuses to stay; for the arrow is flown and the moment is gone.  The millennial year rushes on to our view, and eternity’s here.  O, that each in the day of His coming may say “I have fought my way through; I have finished the work thou didst give me to do!”  O, that each from his Lord, may receive the glad word: “Well and faithfully done!  Enter into My joy, and sit down on My throne!” Amen. [Charles Wesley]

ANTHEM:  Well Done, My Faithful Servant by Pepper Choplin; Emily Lacina, piano

O Lord, You give us everything we treasure, you give us every talent we possess.  And all that we invest in Your kingdom, we know that You will bless.  We bring our gifts and talents to Your altar, and listen to Your Spirit as we pray.  Whenever we are true to Your calling, we can almost hear You say: “Well done, my good and faithful servant.  Well done, feel the pleasure of Your Lord.  Well done, share the joy of the Lord, Your God.  My good and faithful one, well done.”  “Beloved ones, I see your faithfulness, do not be discouraged.  Do not worry about success.  I will surely come to bless.  I will bless you far beyond your earthly blessings.  Look forward to the glory of the day when you come and stand before your heavenly mansion, you’ll rejoice to hear Me say, ‘Well done!’” [based on Matthew 25:14-21]
