INTROIT:  Song of the Mustard Seed  by Hal H. Hopson

The kingdom of God is like a mustard seed; for when it is sown in the earth in the spring, it is least of all seeds in the earth.  But when it is watered it grows, and is greatest of all herbs.  The kingdom of God is like a seed; a little seed, a little mustard seed.  Wherever you go, sow a seed along the way.  A seed of joy however small it [may] be may one day grow into a tree. A seed of faith however small it [may] be may one day grow into a tree. [based on Mark 4:30-32]

ANTHEM:  The Song Is Faith by Alfred V. Fedak

The song is faith: our wonder now professing, we take up hymns that heaven itself has sung in praise of God, the giver of the blessing, who comes in Christ to sing with human tongue.  Before all time, God sent the music sounding, a seamless, flawless, endless melody, a lilt of grace abounding of all God’s children made forever free.  Let God’s good pleasure breathe in songs ascending, God’s grace indwelling the music we now lift.  A hymn of Christ, beloved and unending, the earthly echo of a heavenly gift.  The song is love: it sounds in all our living as saints are fed, and struggling souls find rest.  A servant song becomes our high thanksgiving, a canticle in work made manifest.  O Christ, sing on in every new endeavor, enlightened music, glorious Godly dance, that gives your people now, here, and forever, a song of hope as our inheritance. [John Core]
