PRAYER OF PRAISE

INTROIT:  Lift Your Voice Rejoicing, Mary by Tom Mueller; Julie Metz, violin

Lift your voice rejoicing, Mary, Christ has risen from the tomb; on the cross a suffering victim, now as victor He is come.  Whom your tears in death were mourning, welcome with your smiles returning.  Let your alleluias rise! Raise your weary eyelids, Mary, see Him living evermore; see His countenance, how gracious, see the wound for you He bore.  All the glory of the morning, pales before those wounds redeeming.  Life is yours forever, Mary, for your light is come once more, and the strength of death is broken, now your songs of joy outpour.  Whom your tears in death were mourning, welcome with your smiles returning. Let your alleluias rise! [Peter the Venerable, trans. Elizabeth Rundle Charles]

ANTHEM:  We Walk by Faith by Jan Sanborn

We walk by faith and not by sight. We trust in God and not in might. For in our darkness He is light. We walk by faith and not by sight. Sometimes trials come our way. We don’t know what to do or say, but we know God will make a way if we will trust, trust and obey. We trust in God and in His Son. What God has promised will be done. And as each journey is begun His Holy Spirit makes us one. We may not fully understand, but we are guided by His hand. As we follow faith’s command, God leads us to the promised land. [J. Paul Williams, based on II Corinthians 5:7-9]
