PRAYER OF PRAISE

INTROIT:  When You Believe (from “The Prince of Egypt”) by Stephen Schwartz/arr. by Audrey Snyder; Maria Schafer, soprano solo; Mark Waters, tenor solo

Many nights we’ve prayed with no proof anyone could hear.  In our hearts a hopeful song we barely understood.  Now we are not afraid, although we know there’s much to fear.  We were moving mountains long before we knew we could.  There can be miracles when you believe.  Though hope is frail, it’s hard to kill.  Who knows what miracles you can achieve?  When you believe, somehow you will, you will when you believe.  In this time of fear, when prayer so often proved in vain, hope seemed like the summer birds, too swiftly flown away.  Yet now I’m standing here, with heart so full I can’t explain, seeking faith and speaking words I never thought I’d say.  (In Hebrew)  Ashira l’Adonai ki ga-oh ga-ah.  Michamocha baelim Adonai.  Michamocha ne darbakodesh.  Nachita v’chas-d’cha am zu ga-al-ta.  Ashira.  (Translation ) I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously.  Who is like You, oh Lord, among the celestial?  Who is like You, majestic in holiness?  In Your love, You lead the people You redeemed.  I will sing.

ANTHEM:  I Trust in You by Darcy Stanley

There’s a place of quiet refuge.  There’s a place where my soul finds peace.  In the shelter of my Savior, all anxiety shall cease.  Mercy flows just like a fountain.  Grace is offered full and free.  Loving God and only Savior, You alone can meet my need.  You alone are God, faithful, loving Father.  You alone are God, keeper of my soul.  You alone are God, Lord and King forever.  You are my God.  I trust in You.  All my hope is placed upon You.  Every care lies at Your feet.  As I trust my heart rejoices, for in You I am complete.  You’re my rock, my firm foundation.  You’re my light, my steadfast guide.  You’re my God and I will praise You.  In Your hands I place my life..
