Rob has served as Covenant’s pastor since 1990. He and his wife Adele, who is the church’s associate pastor, live five minutes from the church in downtown Long Beach. Rob has been active in numerous Long Beach community organizations.
Rob attended seminary at Princeton and earned his Ph.D. at Yale. Yet, as he likes to say, he’s never let his education go to his head! He received certification in spiritual direction from the Pecos Benedictine Monastery in New Mexico. He loves God, Adele, reading and writing, exercising, and rooting for the Dodgers.
Adele serves Covenant in almost every area of its life and mission. Among her many aspects of service, she is the executive director of the church’s Rising TIDE after-school program; and, because she doesn’t have enough to do, she also leads the Cooperative Protestant Campus Ministry in the Interfaith Center at California State University in Long Beach.
After becoming the first female student at Youngstown State University in Ohio to graduate with a major in physics and working for a number of years in Chicago, Adele attended McCormick Theological Seminary and graduated with a M.Div.
Both the resident organist and the conductor of the Covenant Choir, Peter applies all his talent, trained skill, energetic diligence and passion to glorify God and uplift souls by a variety of music.
